Who we are

This website is operated by Steelabs (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at sales@steelabs.tech.

What data we collect

We collect personal data when you submit our contact form (and limited data when you use the free site audit, described below). Through the contact form:

• Your name, company name and email address
• Your phone number, if you choose to provide it
• The project details and budget information you include in your message

Technical data (such as your IP address) is processed transiently for spam prevention and rate limiting when you submit the form. It is not stored in a database or used for profiling.

Why we process it

We process contact form data solely to respond to your inquiry and, where the conversation continues, to prepare a proposal. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries you initiate (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) and, where applicable, steps prior to entering a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Where your data goes

Form submissions are delivered to our business mailbox by email. We do not sell personal data, share it with third parties for marketing, or use it to send newsletters. Our email hosting provider processes the data as necessary to deliver mail.

How long we keep it

Inquiry emails are retained for as long as needed to handle the inquiry and any resulting business relationship, after which they are deleted in the normal course of mailbox housekeeping.

Free site audit

The site audit tool needs no account and asks for no contact details. When you run an audit we store:

• The address you submit, the settings you choose and the results of the checks
• The optional name and notes you enter, and any file you choose to attach
• A one-way fingerprint (hash) of the edit key; the key itself is kept only in your browser’s local storage so you can edit or delete the audit later

Please do not put personal data in the notes or the attachment. Your IP address is processed transiently for rate limiting and is not stored. We fetch only publicly reachable pages of the site you submit.

Report reads are public to anyone who knows the identifier. Unlisted reports are omitted from public history; they are not protected by a login. The tool runs on Vercel, with its functions, database (Neon) and job queue (Upstash) configured in the EU (Frankfurt). Error reports from our servers are processed by Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) in its EU region (Germany), without visitor identifiers such as IP addresses or cookies. Attachments and PDF reports are kept in private storage with no public address. Every audit, with its files, is deleted automatically after 30 days, and you can delete it sooner with its edit key. We process this data to provide the audit you request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and, if you then contact us, to respond to your inquiry.

Browser tools and exports

The readiness and cost tools process answers locally. They do not save your answers to a database. A readiness result link contains answer codes in its fragment; selecting a contact action deliberately carries those codes into the inquiry page so you can review the prefilled text before sending it. Shared links, downloads and browser history may retain a copy. Audit comparisons fetch public reports by identifier and run the comparison locally.

The recurring CI kit is an optional example that you install and enable in your own repository. Its downloaded artifacts have separate access, retention and notification settings chosen by the repository owner. It does not subscribe you to email or change report retention on this website.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email sales@steelabs.tech. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
